World Anvil's article interface works well for creating and editing individual articles, but becomes increasingly difficult to use for managing a large world. Once a world reaches hundreds of articles, the current Featured Articles, Recent Articles, Uncategorized Articles, and Untagged Articles views provide very limited ways to actually organize and audit existing content.
It would be extremely useful to have a dedicated Article Management interface that treats articles more like a database/content library.
Ideally, this would allow users to:
Sort articles by title, article type, category, tags, creation date, and modification date.
Filter by multiple criteria simultaneously.
Search within article metadata as well as article titles.
Filter for articles with/without categories and tags.
Identify articles that have no incoming or outgoing links.
Identify potentially orphaned articles.
Perform bulk actions such as assigning categories, adding/removing tags, changing article type, or archiving articles.
Select multiple articles and apply organizational changes at once.
See article relationships and backlinks without having to open each article individually.
Save commonly used filters/views.
Export the resulting list of articles and metadata for external organization.
For large worlds, this would make World Anvil substantially easier to maintain without requiring users to individually open hundreds of articles.
The current organization tools seem designed primarily around finding recently created or featured content. What is missing is a way for worldbuilders to perform ongoing content management and maintenance on an established world.
This becomes especially important for worlds with several hundred or thousands of articles, where manually opening articles one at a time is no longer a practical way to audit or reorganize the world.
