If you want your draconic ancestry to be somewhat more outside the norm ask about the other chromatic/metallic dragons such as Purple or Steel. Or perhaps the Natural Dragons such as the Cactus Dragon, Flame Dragon, Wasteland Dragon, or Wisteria Dragon.Draconic Ancestry. You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table. Your breath weapon manifests as an amalgamation of necrotic darkness intertwined with the elemental energy specific to your ancestry. Arcane Knowledge. You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. Breath Weapon. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d4 necrotic damage and 1d4 damage of the type determined by your draconic ancestry. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. You gain temporary hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt. Both damage types increase by 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d4 each), 11th level (3d4 each), and 17th level (4d4 each). You can use your Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray. Gravetouched. You know the chill touch cantrip. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this spell when you cast it with this trait (choose when you select this race). Draconic Resistance. You have resistance to necrotic damage and the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.
